On April 19, 2026, 25-year-old Jayden Johnson allegedly carried out a violent home invasion and sexual assault in Milwaukee’s Sunset Heights neighborhood. The incident occurred around 8:20 p.m. near 50th and Burleigh Streets when an 81-year-old man briefly left his back door open. Johnson entered the residence and confronted the elderly couple, reportedly telling them he had been watching their home for some time before the attack.
During the fifteen-minute ordeal, Johnson allegedly struck the elderly man in the head multiple times with a firearm and forced his 80-year-old partner to perform a sexual act at gunpoint. Before fleeing the scene, the suspect stole between $200 and $300 in cash from the victims. The Milwaukee Police Department later released surveillance footage of the suspect, which prompted Johnson to turn himself in to authorities on April 30.
On May 4, 2026, prosecutors officially charged Johnson with multiple felonies, including first-degree sexual assault with use of a dangerous weapon and armed robbery. During his initial court appearance, a Milwaukee County court commissioner set his cash bond at $250,000, citing the “horrific and predatory” nature of the allegations. If convicted, Johnson faces a substantial prison sentence for the targeted attack on the vulnerable victims.
