RIP Jor’Dynn Duncan

Three generations of women from the same family have been indicted in Suffolk County, New York, for their involvement in the severe abuse and death of seven-year-old Jor’Dynn Duncan. First responders discovered the unresponsive child at a home in Bayport, Long Island, on December 29, 2025. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy later revealed the child suffered from a massive, untreated infection resulting from sharp-force injuries, alongside a staggering pattern of approximately 90 separate injuries across her body.

Prosecutors have described the residence as a “house of horrors,” alleging that the child endured prolonged physical abuse and unlawful restraint beginning in January 2025. Investigators uncovered graphic text messages and cell phone video footage documenting the abuse, including one video where a defendant is allegedly heard singing while the victim visibly struggles. To hide the mounting injuries from authorities, the primary guardian allegedly pulled the child from school, logging nearly 40 absences under the false pretense of family illnesses and trips.

The three co-defendants, who all lived in the home, have pleaded not guilty to their respective charges. The child’s primary guardian and father’s fiancée, 50-year-old Emily Kelly, faces the most severe charge of Second-Degree Murder and is held on a $5 million cash bail. Her mother, 75-year-old Barbara Renner, is charged with Second-Degree Manslaughter, while Kelly’s daughter, 24-year-old Elyssa Seymore, faces First-Degree Unlawful Imprisonment. All three women remain detained and are scheduled to return to court on June 23, 2026.
