On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, a fatal shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of West 66th Street in Edina, Minnesota. The incident took place outside the 66 West apartment complex, a transitional housing facility for young adults who have experienced homelessness. Police found one adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound; despite immediate life-saving efforts by officers and paramedics, the victim died at the scene.
The shooting triggered a massive law enforcement response and forced several high-profile locations into lockdown as suspects fled on foot. Multiple neighboring agencies, including the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and several local police departments, assisted in the extensive search.
By approximately 4:15 p.m., Edina police arrested three men on suspicion of probable cause murder. Investigators believe the shooting was not a random act and that the victim and the suspects were known to each other. While the suspects are in custody, authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased or the individuals arrested.
