Clinton Rowell, a 29-year-old resident of Gulf Shores, Alabama, was arrested in early April 2026 following a domestic incident in Mobile. He is currently facing severe charges, including sexual torture and felony domestic violence (first degree). The arrest stems from a March 2024 report where police allege Rowell physically and sexually assaulted a victim at a residence on Hillcrest Road. He is currently being held at the Mobile County Metro Jail without bond.
The recent allegations have brought Rowell’s extensive history of violence into sharp focus. Prosecutors describe him as a “clear and present danger,” highlighting a pattern of abuse involving multiple women across Mobile and Baldwin counties dating back to at least 2020. This history includes prior accusations of severe physical beatings and a 2023 conviction for domestic violence strangulation.
Because of the new charges, Rowell faces significant legal consequences beyond the current case. In 2023, he received a 15-year prison sentence that was suspended in favor of five years of probation.
The Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office has filed a motion to revoke that probation. If successful, Rowell would be required to serve the full 15-year term from his previous conviction regardless of the outcome of the pending sexual torture trial.
