Terry Lynn Carr

Terry Lynn Carr, a 38-year-old minister and gospel musical artist from the Mid-South, was arrested on May 22, 2026, by the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office. He faces charges of sexual battery involving a teenage girl between the ages of 14 and 18. Investigators began looking into Carr after the victim contacted a detective via text message, alleging that multiple sexual encounters had occurred over several months. The most recent incident reportedly took place on May 19, 2026.

According to court affidavits, the allegations involve elements of grooming and the distribution of contraband. Carr is accused of providing the minor with alcohol and THC honeypacks during their interactions. Additionally, the victim stated that Carr told her a friend would visit her to provide instructions on specific sexual acts. Carr, who publicizes himself online as a religious leader and the founder of the Clarksdale Fellowship Mass Choir, had released a gospel song titled “I’m Saved” just a month prior to his arrest.

Carr is currently being held at the DeSoto County Jail on a $250,000 bond. Because of his role as a minister, the charges carry enhancements related to being an adult in a position of trust or authority over a minor. He is scheduled to make his next appearance in court on July 17, 2026, as local authorities continue their investigation into the case.
