Verwayne Alexander, a 63-year-old registered sexual predator, is currently in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail following his arrest in early April 2026. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, he faces severe charges including armed kidnapping and sexual battery relating to a March 30 incident in Lake Worth Beach. In that case, he allegedly lured a woman into his 2019 Chevrolet Trax by asking for directions before threatening her with a knife and sexually assaulting her. He is also charged with four counts of indecent exposure stemming from separate incidents in Delray Beach and the Lake Ida Dog Park, where he reportedly used a similar tactic of asking for directions while engaging in lewd behavior.
Alexander’s criminal record is extensive, with his status as a registered sexual predator dating back to 1989. His past convictions include multiple counts of sexual battery and kidnapping, such as the 1988 rape of a British tourist and an assault on a minor. In 2021, court records show he was sentenced to 15 months in prison after DNA evidence linked him to a cold case sexual battery from 1981.
